Our biggest concern is the number of products available on the market, that contain harmful and even toxic ingredients. Unlimited amounts of chemicals are added to personal and homecare products with no required specification and testing for safety. US researchers found that more than 10 000 of the 82 000 ingredients used in personal care products are in fact industrial chemicals, including carcinogens, pesticides, reproductive toxins, plasticizers and degreasers (David Suzuki Foundation).

Our skin is our largest organ and is highly absorbent, yet we are not as well informed about what we put on our skin as we are about what we eat.
